Utica Riverwalk Festival Lineup Announced

The Utica Riverwalk Festival is less than a week away. The event, in downtown Utica, will be held June 12-16 will feature a carnival, multiple music stages, fireworks, petting zoo and a rubber piggy race.

Organizers of the Utica Riverwalk Festival released more information about the popular summer event June 12-16 in the city's downtown. Similar to last year, carnival rides, live entertainment and rubber piggy race along the Clinton River are planned.

Organizers expanded the number of days and added events to the festival this year include a petting zoo, the Old Mill Art and Crafts Show in Grant Park, canoe races on the Clinton River, one large fireworks display Saturday night and a classic car show and parade.

Carnival

A carnival will be Wednesday - Sunday. A $2 off coupon for ride-all-day armband for Wednesday and Thursday is attached.

Bike parade


Weekend festivities will kickoff Friday with a bike parade for children and balloon launch. Children up to sixth grade can bring their decorated bicycles to Memorial Park for the 6 p.m. parade At the completion of the parade, there will be a balloon launch followed by a concert. 

Main stage entertainment

  • Friday night: The Meldrum Brothers Band
  • Saturday Afternoon: Diable IL Gato & The Joey Vee Band
  • Saturday Night: Monkey Grinder
  • Sunday Afternoon: Macomb Jazz Trio in Memorial Park and Jammin' Jerry at the car show
Rubber piggy race

Rubber pigs can be purchased online for $5 each, or a pack of six for $20, for the race at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Riverwalk Park off of Auburn Road. Tickets can also be purchased at various downtown Utica businesses, Utica City Hall office, Police Department office or from the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce office. There is a $300 prize for the first place piggy, $100 second place prize and third place will be honored with $50. There will also be special prize for the last place piggy.

Old Mill Art and Crafts Show in Grant Park

Artisans, a food court and local entertainment along with the DIA Art in the Park will be part of the show Saturday and Sunday.
