The D - Zone - Michigan School Football Coverage

The D - Zone is a high school football blog, that covers everything related to high school sports in the state of Michigan.

Hello all Patch readers,

We are The D - Zone.  The D - Zone is a Michigan based blog that covers everything related to high school sports in the state of Michigan.  The D - Zone was formed in September 2010 by Shelby Township resident, Jeff Corrion.  The plans have changed quite a bit from the initial stages.  Originally we only covered Macomb County area schools then it to moved to cover Southeastern Michigan (223 schools), and now we basically do our best to cover the whole entire state of Michigan.  Our roots and primary coverage though, will always remain in Southeastern Michigan.

Southeastern Michigan is a broad term but to us, we take great pride in our region.  The region of Southeastern Michigan consists of a trapezoid shape from Lexington (Saint Clair County) to East Jackson to Bedford (Ohio border) and back to Lexington.  That whole area is what we consider Southeastern Michigan.

There is a ton of high school sports related news that comes from our state and often times, it goes ignored.  The D - Zone is a spot where you will see player interviews, rankings, highlights/news on current and past High School athletes, pictures, videos, game recaps, game previews, coaches previews, and basically anything else we can think of.

During the winter months, the hot topic is football recruiting.  The first weekend of February is National Signing Day, where mostly all of the high school athletes will sign their Letters of Intent for college.

Since all of the Patch websites in Michigan fall into our cover region, I will let you know in advance, that there will be plenty of signings and exciting high school sports news coming this winter.  Last year, the Class of 2012 in Southeastern Michigan sent nearly 400 athletes to play college football.  This year should be a slightly lower number.

We thank the Patch greatly for letting us post our articles. We hope that your thirst for high school sports will quenched! We are also in a stage of major growth, as the state of Michigan is starting to discover The D - Zone.
