A Good Move

Students in Flickinger, Schuchard and Roberts earned nearly 20 team and individual awards at the annual Elementary Chess Championship held February at Michigan State University.

Utica Community Schools students were kings for the day at a recent state chess tournament.

Students in Flickinger, Schuchard and Roberts earned nearly 20 team and individual awards at the annual Elementary Chess Championship held February at Michigan State University.

Teams played in five rounds during the more than 12-hour tournament.

The students will next be participating in the 18th Annual UCS Chess Tournament, scheduled for Saturday April 13th at Henry Ford II Ford High School.
