Exchange program takes Shelby student on "wonderous" trip to Japan

Henry Ford II senior takes part in Temple University Japan's Summer High School Program

"The program intended to bring international students to Japan to teach language, culture, and pop culture as well as touring Tokyo and Kanazawa," Morales said.

Students from across the globe stayed in the university’s dorm and took part in courses studying language and culture while touring various sites in Tokyo, such as the Tokyo Disney Sea and the Akihabara section of the city.

Students also traveled to Kanazawa and visited the World Heritage Center.

Morales, who plans to study engineering and Japanese next year in college, called the experience "fantastic.

"I honestly wish I had more time over there," he said. "It’s truly a wondrous place."

He added: "Japanese people are very kind, courteous, and curious people. It was a lot of fun getting to know them and my fellow program participants."
