Henry Ford II digital media students record top honors

Henry Ford II High School’s Film Making and Multi Media students earned 15 top awards – including one full-ride scholarship to Specs Howard School of Broadcasting – at the Michigan Student Festival Film and Video Festival.

Senior Abby Pollak earned a “Best of Show award” and Henry Ford II students received awards of excellence, honor and merit at the 44th annual festival, sponsored by the Digital Arts, Film and Television (DAFT).  Students create short entertainment, Informational, Documentary, and Public Service Announcement (PSA) videos. 

Pollak’s honor makes the third year that a Henry Ford II student has won the coveted Spec Howard School of Media Full Tuition Scholarship Award.

Pollak won the award for her PSA named “Above The Influence” – a short video and public service announcement that expressed the dangers of underage drinking to teenagers.   

In addition to Pollak’s scholarship, Henry Ford II students Austin Radell and Ian Hardy earned scholarships to the Michigan Youth Arts Festival at Western Michigan University on May 10 to 12.  The festival is the oldest festival in the Nation celebrating youth making fine arts. Students participate with more than 20 other scholarship only students and professional visiting artists from around the country.
