Attention "Idol" Wannabes ages 18 to 118 - the Utica Community Schools Educational Foundation for Excellence is offering the chance to compete for prizes and help raise scholarship funds for 2012 graduates.

Auditions for the foundation's third annual Arts & Idols Scholarship
Gala will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the UCS Instructional
Resource Center, 14201 Canal Road in Sterling Heights.

Prospective singing idols will audition a capella and, if selected, be
able to use a musical selection at the gala. Idol finalists will earn
cash prizes and compete for a top award of $5,000 at the Arts & Idols
Scholarship Gala on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at the Palazzo Grande
Banquet Center at 54660 Van Dyke, just south of 25 Mile Road in Shelby

All funds will go to support the Utica Community Schools
Superintendent's Scholarship Fund. Since its inception, the Arts &
Idols Scholarship Gala has raised more than $60,000 for UCS graduates.

The Superintendent's Scholarship Fund is an important piece of the UCS
