Kaleidoscope celebrates UCS elementary students

Thirty-two UCS students recognized for writing and art by the Michigan Reading Association.

Thirty-two elementary students have earned the prestigious honor of being recognized by the Michigan Reading Association as outstanding young authors and poets.

The students were honored at the Young Authors’ Luncheon at the Michigan Reading Association’s Annual Conference and also attended the Kaleidoscope Dinner at the Macomb Intermediate School District.

Utica Community Schools is proud to continue the tradition that was begun last year of publishing our very own district Kaleidoscope hard-bound book titled Reading is an Adventure.

The hardbound book features the winning short stories and poetry of UCS talented students, and includes captivating illustrations as well.

Beck third-grade student Sara Lorenzo designed the beautiful cover.
