Morgan Students Help Lead Community Effort to Bring Cheer to Classmate

Community collects "Get Well" cards to deliver to Morgan student who has suffered from rare form of cancer.

At only 11 years of age, Morgan Elementary student Joey Caretti has already spent nearly a fifth of his young life in chemotherapy for a rare form of brain cancer. Following the treatment, Morgan students learned that their classmate has leukemia.

To help bring their classmate strength, Morgan students are assisting a community project to collect "Get Well" cards that will be delivered in a big sack to their friend.

Morgan students - and many others across the district - have been creating individual cards in art classes. In addition, each grade has created a large card for each student to sign.
