MST students go the distance for St. Jude Hospital

Program's Team Believe raises more than $6,400 at 5k fundraiser

More than 100 students and staff from the Utica Center for Mathematics, Science
and Technology, their family members and friends met at the Somerset Collection
to participate in the "St. Jude Give thanks. Walk."

The 5K took place inside the shopping center before stores opened.
Participants walked around the 3rd floor nine times with over 500 other people who came together for the children of St. Jude hospital.

Team Believe was put together by Christina Suchyta, Dean of Students at the
UCMST, in memory of her friend’s son who had been treated at St. Jude over the
last two years for a form of brain cancer.

Through team t-shirt sales, online donations, and a bake sale, Team Believe
raised over $6,400.

“It was an amazing event from start to finish.  To walk with such a large
group and know we were truly making a difference was absolutely inspiring.  I am
so proud of the students and their commitment to this event,” said
