UCS Elementary Honors Choir to perform Thursday

The Honors Choir is composed of fifth and sixth graders from each of the 25 UCS elementary schools.

The UCS Elementary Honors Choir will present a special performance on Thursday, March 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Henry Ford II High School Performing Arts Center, 11911 Clinton River Rd.

The choir is composed of talented fifth and sixth-grade students from each of the 25 UCS elementary schools, who participated in a five-week workshop with vocal music teachers Susan Rosso, Charlene Sonnenberg, Sarah Leto, and Jessica Nicol.

To prepare for the concert, the choir studied vocal technique and learned a variety of repertoire, including songs in Latin and French, as well as an English folk song, a Broadway show tune, and a current popular hit song. As an added attraction, the Stevenson High School Choir, conducted by Chris Zuccaro, will also be featured as guest performers.
