UCS schools are the only in Macomb to be named among nation's best

Ike, Henry Ford II make annual list of America's best high schools

Two Utica Community Schools high schools have been named among the nation's best high schools by Newsweek Magazine.

Eisenhower and Henry Ford II high schools are the only Macomb County schools to earn placement in an annual list "of the ones that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads," according to the Newsweek Web site.

This is the second straight year Henry Ford II has been featured in the list. This is the third time Eisenhower has been listed in the annual report.

To earn entry on the lists, schools were evaluated in four areas: Four-year, on time graduation rate; percent of 2011 accepted to college; AP/IB/AICE per student, average SAT and/or ACT score; Average AP/IB/AICE exam, and AP/IB/AICE courses offered per student.
