Utica High School editor Lindsay Spagnuolo named to 2012 All State Journalism staff

newspaper editor Lindsay Spagnuolo has been named one of the state's top student journalists.

Spagnuolo was selected to the 2012 All State Journalism staff by the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association (MIPA). It is one of nearly ten awards she earned at the state competition in Lansing on April 17.

"Lindsay has seen her work published in not one, but two professional newspapers, is a writer for our local online "information platform," and contributes stories and graphics to our school district’s online website," UHS Student Publications Advisory Stacy Smale said. "She’s handled a tough, emotional interview with a football player after a near-death experience, dug for the truth behind an animal activist group picketing a local pet store, and has even landed interviews with the rich and famous, including members of the teen pop band All Star Weekend and a Super Bowl champion."
