UHS presents Runaways this weekend

Performances are at 7 p.m. at the school, 47255 Shelby Rd.

The Utica High School Theatre Department will present the musical Runaways this
weekend in the school’s auditorium, 47255 Shelby Rd.

Performances are at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1.

The play, written by Jay Christopher, is centered at Runaway House, a haven for young people in distress. It is the setting for this play that deals dramatically and constructively with the growing problem of runaways.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $5 for children 12 and under and are available at the door. Seating is general admission and the box office will be open 45 minutes prior to the show.

The theatre program is working with the school’s Key Club to also raise money for the Covenant House, a shelter for runaways in Detroit.
