Credit union banks on UCS students

The Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union has awarded $5,250 in grants to support Utica Community Schools classrooms.
The credit union awarded a series of seven grants as part of its Classroom Cash program.
The $750 grants were awarded based on teacher applications. Projects were judged according to project originality, goals and objectives, number of students participating, and final outcome. 
Programs supported in UCS include:

  • Kindergarten Differentiated Math Program, by Hilary Speshok at Beacon Tree Elementary
  • Promethean White Board Software, by Jill Erfourth at Duncan Elementary
  • Groovin' and Movin' to a Healthier Lifestyle, by Laura Laban at Ebeling Elementary
  • A Dell Would be Swell, by Christine Zatell-Holden at Ebeling Elementary
  • Computer Store - Computer Class, by Michael Jenkins at Henry Ford II High School
  • Moving Molecules, by Tracy Bigelow at Stevenson High School
