Ebeling Elementary gets a kind grant

Ebeling Elementary has received a donation to help promote kindness in their school.

The Brandon Bondowski Scholarship Fund awarded $500 to the school for its "Kind Kids Club."

Developed in January, the club is focused on spreading kindness, preventing bullying and starting a chain reaction of positive attitudes.

The club is comprised of classroom representatives that were nominated through an application process. The students model the importance of being kind to others.

"We are impressed with the overwhelming response within our building and the positive energy this program has created," said teacher Laura Laban. "We look forward to build upon this energy and move forward with our program."

The group plans to help spread its message of kindness through assemblies, such as the "Kids Empowerment Group" and "Rachel's Challenge. The donation will also help support posters, t-shirts and bracelets that incorporate positive messages.

The school has also created an Ebeling Kindness pledge: I am an Ebeling Eagle. I am respectful, kind and caring. I will choose kind words and actions, I will start a chain reaction.
