Eisenhower Student Council earns national leadership honor

Eisenhower High School is the only Michigan school to earn a top leadership honor from the National Association of Student Councils.

Eisenhower's Student Council earned the National Gold Council of Excellence award in recognition of its efforts to involve students in their school and community.

"This was no small task and our student success is a testament to their leadership and support of the school, and to the value placed on student council as an integral part of Eisenhower and its educational mission," said advisor Amber Bronson.

To earn the award, the Eisenhower Student Council demonstrated that it met all of the council’s indicators of excellence related to governance, service, general activities and operations, civic engagement and student voice.

"NASC is proud to honor these student councils for implementing a strong leadership program that meets council goals; functioning in an ethical and responsible way; and engaging others in leadership, spirit, civic, and service activities," the association wrote in announcing the honor.
