UCS grad is the face of quality

A Utica Community Schools graduate is the face of quality for General Motors.

Francesca (Vitale) Daniel, the 2000 valedictorian from Eisenhower High School, was part of a team that accepted eight 2013 J.D. Power Initial Quality Award and is featured in publicity related to the honors.

"I am so thankful to have educators like you in my life who inspired me to be the best I can be," she wrote to Patrick Packan, a teacher at Eisenhower.

A University of Michigan graduate, Daniel is currently an Instrument Panel Design Release Engineer for General Motors.

"Francesca was a wonderful student who had a lot of self motivation. She was eager to learn and wanted to be involved in the engineering program," Packan said. "Best of all she had a wonderful personality!"

Daniel accepted the J.D. Power Initial Quality Awards with GM CEO Dan Akerson GM Vice President - Quality Alicia Boler-Davis (GM Vice President - Quality) from Dave Sargent (J.D. Power's Vice President - Global Automotive).

She is appearing in ads that have run in the New York Times, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today.

The J.D. Power Awards is presented to companies that rate the highest in consumer satisfaction studies.
