Velocity Jr. gains speed over mid-winter break

It's almost time to discover again.

Utica Community Schools and the City of Sterling Heights are once again offering an opportunity for students to discover something new through science camps through Velocity Jr.

Velocity Jr. is a popular series of camps designed to create excitement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Thirteen new camps will be available for students during mid-winter and spring breaks for all K through 9th grade students. The camps are held at Rose Kidd Elementary, 38397 Gladstone near Utica and 17 Mile roads.

Camps are age-appropriate and include such things as: Gears & Gadgets, Discovering Engineering, Game Masters and Movie Madness, and Critter Camp.
Velocity Jr. is open to all interested families and is a partnership of Utica Community Schools, the City of Sterling Heights and Macomb Community College.

The program is a complement to the economic development efforts housed at the Velocity Collaboration Center in Sterling Heights, a new center for business incubation and economic development, targeting defense, homeland security and advanced manufacturing.
