Haunted Nature Center at Burgess Shadbush and More

Patch is here to make your life ridiculously easy, so as you sit down today and plan your weekend, here are three events you should know about in the area. Do you have an event you want to share? Add it to the Patch calendar of events.

1. Haunted Nature Center

  • When: Oct. 18-19, 7 p.m.
  • Where: Burgess Shadbush Nature Center (4101 River Bends Dr., Shelby Township)
  • What: Recommended for ages 3-8. Last admission is at 8:45 p.m. All children must be accompanied by a paid adult. Bring bags for treats.  Visitors will approach the spooky nature center and find scary costumed creatures and a few spooky scenes. Children will get treats from some of our costumed characters. Pre-registration is not available—walk-ins only. The cost is $2 per person over 3.

2. Ladies Bible Study

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 19, 9:30 a.m.
  • Where: New Hope Christian Church (52226 Van Dyke Ave., Shelby Township)
  • What: Join the Ladies of New Hope Christian Church for their continued study of Beth Moore's Book of Daniel.

3. Community Shred Day

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 19, 9 a.m. 
  • Where: Shelby Township Municipal Parking Lot (52700 Van Dyke Ave.)
  • What: Shelby Township residents are urged to bring documents to the township municipal grounds to be professionally shredded. All shredded documents will be recycled. Businesses located in Shelby Township are urged to bring only two boxes of documents to be shredded.
