Had a truly wonderful Mother's Day dinner at Steiny's Tavern--the 6 of us all enjoyed our food; couldn't believe the size of the burger! "Steiny Sauce" was the perfect accompaniment to the pulled pork. My MIL really enjoyed the fish and chips w/ the thin coating and my husband LOVED the ribs. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. The waitress was attentive and the manager stopped by to check on us a few times. We will be back!

Atmosphere is terrible and so is the service! The bartenders spend more time talking to customers than serving drinks to those that are waiting for a drink. I just moved in the area and will not return to this bar. I will rather go to downtown rochester or Hamlin Pub two miles east.
We've eaten at Steiney's several times and each time one of the owners personally visits our table to be certain everything is as hoped. Great atmosphere! Lots of food choices! They definitely aim to please!
The layout was awful, the Tv's were so loud we couldn't talk. The bar was empty. There were 4 booths. The only customers they had were people at 3 of the 4 booths. We had to sit at a dark table in the middle of nowhere because the last booth had a waitress's half eaten food (who wasn't even sitting there and never came back to the table while we were there) and didn't want to move it. They charged $9.00 for 3 chicken tenders for the appetizer. We ordered fish and chips. We got 3 chucks of rubbery, overcooked, 3 fishstick size pieces of fish and I counted 8 burnt french fries that costs $11.00. The second I put my fish in my mouth, my gag reflex kicked in because it tasted like old rotten fish and I spit it out on my plate. I left the place with a stale fishy taste in my mouth and went next door and bought chinese food instead. Their logo may say "come for the food stay for the party". The only party I see is a new grand opening under a new name for this location.

The turkey rueben is wonderful, my favorite. Everything we've ever had at Steiny's has been good- the pulled pork is great, the pizzas are fabulous and the salads are good too! Yes, it is noisy (echo) with the high ceilings and such but this is not a romantic diner, it is a bar n grill. Owner has always come to our table too, to check on things. Great stop on the way home from Stony Creek Metropark.
