This is a great Alteration Shop in Shelby Township. Well organized, pleasant and experienced staff. I had such a great experience here. All 6 garments were altered correctly and on time. Defintely will be back to this shop with all of future alterations. Glad I came upon this business while shopping at Vince and Joes. Thank you Stitch!

My Weeding Dress Story:

I took my dress into The Stitch. It was my Grandmothers dress from the 20's. It was a stunning dress at one time. Over the years the dress rotted out. So I brought in a picture to the seamstresses at The Stitch I showed them what the dress use to look like and asked them if they could restore it and bring it back to life. I thought for sure they were going to laugh me out of the shop. Instead they said they were up for the challenge. It took about 3 weeks before the dress was complete. I came in for my first fitting on the dress. I was STUNNED!!! The dress was beautiful!!! It looked like it was brand new. My eyes flooded with tears. I didnt expect to have such dramatic results. Prior to my first fitting they took my measurements. So when I tried the dress on it fit me perfectly. I stood there in disbelief. I am beyond happy and impressed with the talent that these ladies have. My grandmother is going to be overwhelmed when she sees me walk down the aisle in this dress. Thank you all for a incredible job on my dress. I will be back whenever I need alterations done on my clothing.

I think this place needs to invest some money into their equipment and or machines, the hem job they did for me looks horrible. They restitched them for me but dont they check their work...or maybe they just thought I would accept it.

Im not one to rely on reviews, everyone has an opinion. I will take reviews to heart NOW after dealing with the stitch. All I can say is they did a horriable job on my dress and I had to wait 5 days longer than when they said it would be ready. I wanted the sleeves shortened and one is longer than the other. I wanted a pair of pants hemmed and the stitching looks loose as if it gets caught on something the whole thing will come apart. Very poor work, will NEVER be back !!!! I dont even want them to correct the problem, I am just going to take them and any other alterations I may need in the future some where else. This place doesnt know what they are doing.

I just picked up my evening gown today for a fund raiser that I am going to. It fits perfectly!!!!! I brought it in last minute and the seamstress stayed after hours to get it done for me on time. Now that is customer services and dedication. Thank you so much! I will tell all my friends and family about your shop!!!

I brought my St. John suit in the be altered. Not only did they do an incredible job, the pricing was reasonable aswell. Very impressed and satisified with the quality of work that this alteration shop provided for me! I knew the minute I walked into this shop that I would not be disappointed. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Thre were customers in and out the entire time I was in there. A company has to be good with amount of people coming and going from this shop. Thank you for a subperb job on my suit! I will most defintely be back!

I was extremely displeased with the service this alteration shop provided for me. When I entered their shop, they were less than friendly. I figured that any alteration shop could successfully hem a pair of pants. I was wrong. They did an awful job. They didn't have the stitch go around the entire bottom of the pant leg, and the stitch is not straight at all. Thankfully most people don't look at the hem of your pants because if they did I would be embarrassed. It looks that bad. I recommend taking your clothes elsewhere to be altered.

I am extremely greatful with the service that this company has given to my mother and I. My mother is in an assisted living home. The owner came out to her apartment and did all the fittings for my mothers pants. It is to hard for her to get out. Without hesitation they offered to come to her. Thank you so much. It meant so much to my mom and me.

A lovely alteration shop. Beautiful, elegant and CLEAN!! I lost 40 lbs and took most of my closet into The Stitch. They refit all of my clothes and EVERYTHING fits perfectly. I am thrilled!! It was less expensive to have the alterations done on my clothing, then to go out and buy all new clothes. WHich was not an option for me. Thank you so much ladies.

While they do a decent job at the actual alterations, I would not consider the staff super friendly. When I needed a pair of my husband's pants hemmed for a business trip, they would not accomodate hemming them quicker (10 day wait!) for me due to a high volume of prom alterations they had lined up. Meanwhile, I left a pile of other things to be hemmed and repaired. I find it very hard to believe they couldn't squeeze in a quick hem and I wish I had not left the rest of my clothes there. I will be looking elsewhere for my alterations from now on.

I would highly reccommend The Stitch Alterations to anyone. They did an incredible job with my daughters Homecoming Dress. My daughter had to have this particular dress. She was in love with it. The problem was it was too small. So we took it into The Stitch to see what they could do to help us. They took one look at the dress said not a problem we will remove the back zipper and make the back into a corsett. It turned out beautifully!!!! And it fit her perfect! My daughter was ecstatic to say the least. Thank you so much!

I was referred by a friend to come here for my alterations. They EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the store is clean and my clothes always look/fit GREAT. The best is that they are AFFORDABLE! I have been a loyal customer for over one year now and have gotten my friends and family to come here too. I highly recommend going to The Stitch!!

I would definitely reccommend The Stitch! Incredible service and such a friendly staff. They altered my daughters Homecoming dress perfectly! The store is beautiful and clean. I will tell everyone I know to take their clothes to your store!

DO NOT GO THERE!!! The most RUDE people I have ever dealt with.
I took my wedding dress in to have it altered. I called before to see when to bring it in (the lady that does the wedding dress alternations was not there every day). I also asked when the dress would be ready since I obviously needed it done by my wedding day. On the phone I was told the dress would be done on Thursday, but instead was asked to pick it up on Friday the day of my wedding. I sent my husband to get it when they said it would be ready, but it was still not done. They said to come back in 2 hours. They then offered to drop it off at my house since it is a 20 min drive. I was left at my house hair done, make-up done all ready to go with my photographer and videographer just standing there (along with the bridal party) waiting for the dress to arrive HOURS after they said it would be ready. The worst part is when we called to ask if the dress was en route etc.. the person who answered the phone (who was a different person than who altered my dress) said that if we kept bothering them and being rude about the dress that they wouldn't bring it at all! They pretty much told me they were going to hold my wedding dress hostage on my wedding day. NOT something any bride on their wedding day needs to put up with! I still paid full price- $120 for the alterations and

avoid this store at all costs. They overcharge!!!
