Shelby Resident Robbed at Knife-Point at ATM On Van Dyke

A man wearing a ski-mask robbed a Shelby Township resident at knife-point Saturday at an ATM Machine on 22 and Van Dyke.

A Shelby Township resident was robbed at knife-point Saturday while withdrawing cash from an automated teller machine on 22 Mile and Van Dyke roads. Police said the victim was withdrawing money from the Charter One Bank ATM around 6 p.m. Saturday when a knife-wielding thief approached and robbed the resident. No vehicle was seen as the thief fled the parking lot on foot. The victim was not injured during the robbery. The thief is described as a black male, about 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing dark clothes, a black hooded sweatshirt and a ski-mask.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Shelby Township Police Department at 586-731-2121.

Seems like there has been quite a rise in these types of crimes recently. My question is what is being done? Has even one of these crimes been solved by police? Are there more patrols being put on the street? You sure don't hear too much about them, wouldn't know anything if it weren't for Patch   more ›
