Designed to serve an aging Macomb County population, Shelby Township’s newest senior care facility is scheduled to open this month at the corner of 21 Mile Road and Schoenherr. Shelby Crossing Health Campus, which offers assisted living, long-term care, adult day services, short-term rehab and skilled nursing, will welcome its first residents on Feb. 18. A second building designed for memory care, is due to open later this spring. With nearly 250,000 Macomb County residents expected to be age 65 or older by the year 2040, senior living promises to become a highly competitive business.
