What Did You Like About the 2013 Auto Show?

What did you like about the auto show? That’s what we want to know as the North American International Auto Show enters its final weekend at Detroit’s Cobo Hall. The auto show drew large crowds in the first weekend, according to the Detroit News. As always, there were lots of cool cars, from Jaguars to Corvettes. Did you go to the North American International Auto Show this year? If so, what was the highlight? Get the scoop on hours, tickets, parking, what's on display, special events and more before you head downtown, Shelby Township and Utica!

The 2013 North American International Auto opens to the public Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Cobo Center in Detroit and we've got the scoop on what you need to know before you go! [Do you know someone from Shelby Township or Utica who will be participating behind the scenes? Leave a comment!] More than 500 vehicles from Detroit automakers and other global manufacturers will be on display inside the renovated Cobo Center and 40 will make their global debut during the 24th annual event. Did You Go to the Auto Show? Show Us – And Win!

Did you make it to the auto show this year? If you share a photo by 6 p.m. today, you'll have a chance to win a Patch T-shirt or hat.

You've been to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit; now it's time to dream. Whether it's a Mercedes or a Ford, chances are you had a favorite car (we wonder if this Bentley is a favorite of chef Wolfgang Puck?) And more than likely, you have a photo of yourself in front of that car to prove it. Patch wants to see your photos from the auto show, and we'll reward you for it. Local High School Students Compete for $18,000 in Video Awards

Anti-drinking entries in the 12th annual Courageous Persuaders contest apply course skills for local auto dealers' campaigns.

High school filmmakers throughout Macomb County and the rest of Michigan are using video cameras and editing programs to create short, strong messages about underage drinking. Students are preparing half-minute entries for the 12th annual Courageous Persuaders contest, featuring $18,250 in scholarship money – mainly for Michigan teens. The campaign, which drew 743 entries last year, challenges students to write, shoot and produce public-service ads aimed at middle school viewers. Youngsters from that target age group help judge entries after the Feb. 9 submission deadline. "It takes courage for high school students to produce these sorts of messages" about health, safety and legal risks of drinking alcohol before age 21, says broadcast …

2 UCS Students Win Awards During Auto Show Design Contest

Two Utica Community Schools students' posters will displayed at the 2011 auto show Jan. 15-23.

Two students from the Utica Center for Science and Industry received top honors recently in the North American International Auto Show's annual design contest. Senior Ryan Manauis earned two awards in the annual NAIAS poster contest: second place overall for 12th grade and the College for Creative Studies Award. He was awarded a cash gift of $500. Senior Austin Rudisill earned the Best Use of Color award and earned a $250 cash prizes. The 23rd annual contest highlighted designs by hundreds of area high school students in grades 10 through 12. Winning posters will be displayed at the 2011 auto show Jan. 15-23 and reproduced in the official NAIAS program. The Utica Center for Science and Industry is a high school program housed at the …
