MMA Cage Fighters Help Charity to 'Knock Out Blindness'
The Shelby Lions Club will be hosting a smashing good time April 19 to raise money for blindness.
Mixed martial arts cage fighters are coming to the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township on April 19 to help the Shelby Lions Club “Knock Out Blindness.” The club’s annual fundraiser is expected to draw more than 600 spectators and raise between $12,000 and $18,000 for several charities. The charities that will benefit from the event include the Welcome Home for the Blind Adult Care Facility, Leader Dogs for the Blind, the Michigan Eye Bank and Transportation Center and more. The night is promised to be a smash, with Red Wings singer Karen Newman singing the national anthem and a special appearance by former Major League pitcher Dave Rozema.
