Old Hollywood Glamour Moves Out of Shelby with Closing of Hepburn's Crepes

Hepburn's Crepes and Coffee has closed its Shelby Township location.

It's the end of the old Hollywood glamour era for Shelby Township since Hepburn's Crepes and Coffee on 24 Mile and Van Dyke closed its doors. After more than a year-and a-half of serving up hot crepes filled with fresh ingredients and delicious coffees, Hepburn’s Crepes and Coffee closed its Shelby Township location about two weeks ago. But not to worry, the chic café has opened a location just ten minutes away inside the Village of Rochester Hills. “The Village of Rochester Hills is perfect for Hepburn’s. It’s going really well,” said Owner Deanna Birg, who added the mall sought them out after they opened the first location in Shelby. “The village came looking for us. Newly Opened Hepburn's Crepe and Coffee is More Than Your Average Cafe

Hepburn's Crepe and Coffee is creating a buzz around Shelby and making a name for itself as the place to go for great food, music and a trip to another world.

When you walk into Hepburn's Crepe and Coffee, you are immediately transported to a time when life was simple. Over the speakers, Judy Garland sings, "Hallelujah." The atmosphere? Walls adorned with photos of old Hollywood movie stars, with the cafe's namesake, Audrey Hepburn, watching over all who enter the cafe. At the center of it all is a little known delight called a crepe. The story of how this wonderful café at the corner of 24 Mile and Van Dyke roads came into existence is just as remarkable as the crepes it serves.  The beginning Deanna Birg began dancing ballet when she was in first grade, entertaining friends and family at church and other events.
