Hollywood hearthrob Ryan Gosling will be in town this spring to direct a film and is casting local actors for several parts. Gosling will be filming "How to Catch a Monster," starring "Mad Men's" Christina Hendricks, beginning in May in Metro Detroit, according to WXYZ. This won't be the actor's first movie in Michigan; he filmed "The Ides of March" with George Clooney in 2011 in Clawson. However, it will be Gosling's directorial debut. A 20-year-old Shelby Township woman was among several hundred contestants to put her looks and attitude to the test Friday in an open casting call for America's Next Top Model's 20th cycle. The casting call was held at P&A Scholars Beauty School in Ferndale. A Macomb Township video production company is accepting resumes and headshots this week for those interested in auditioning for the lead in Mad Habit's latest short film.
The search is on for Kyle Warner, a likeable, Caucasian male, between the ages of 35 and 45 who will start in Mad Habit Media's next short film. Founded by Tom Nahas and Tom Lehrer, Mad Habit Media is a Macomb Township-based video production company whose work has included promotional pieces for Mark Hackel and the Macomb County Executive Office, an anti-bullying campaign sponsored by The Choose Friendship Company and the short film, Amendmentwinner of the 2011 Best of The Mitten Short Film competition. Mad Habit Media is using more than 60 local kids to dance in a music video it is filming in Macomb Township on Jan. 22.
Later this month, more than 60 local kids will take to the hallways of a Macomb Township high school to film their part of a Mad Habit Media music video. Produced by MHM, in association with The Choose Friendship Company, the video is a collaborative effort to raise awareness on bullying in schools as well as inspiring kids to “pay‐it‐forward” with friendship. A new song, performed by Marisa Nahas and titled Inside Out, will headline the video, while around 100 extras and secondary characters will provide the backdrop and perform a short, choreographed dance during a portion of the song.
