Enrollment Now Open for Shelby Township Citizens Police Academy
The six-week spring 2013 session will be held on Tuesday evenings, beginning on April 2. The deadline to apply for the spring session is March 22.
Residents and business owners interested in getting a closer look at Shelby Township police operations are invited to apply for the department's spring Citizens Police Academy. Held two hours a week for six weeks, the academy offers citizens insight into how police officers perform their duties and the various ways by which the greater police department serves the community. The police department is now accepting applications for enrollment in its spring session scheduled to start April 2. The program is free and open to any citizen involved in the Shelby Township community who is at least 18 years of age and has no prior felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions in the last three years.
