The ultimate local sports star opens up the ultimate sports bar. Former Detroit Red Wings star Dino Ciccarelli celebrated the grand opening of Ciccarelli’s Sports Bar and Theater in Shelby Township on Thursday in style. The evening kicked off with a ribbon cutting with the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce and continued with hundreds of guests drinking beer, watching sports, nibbling on wings and listening to 97.1 The Ticket’s live broadcast from the bar. The night continued to heat up as the NFL kicked off its season and fans watched the game on one of the bars 50 flat screen TVs. Ciccarelli told Patch the bar has been very busy since it opened its doors in July, in the place of the former discothèque Club 22.
