Detroit Lions Teach UCS Kids Drills, Victory Dance During Grant Presentation (Video)

Six Detroit Lions players presented Jack Harvey Elementary School students a $10,000 grant to promote physical fitness.

Tuesday was a day Jack Harvey Elementary School students won't soon forget. Six Detroit Lions players visited the Sterling Heights elementary school to present a $10,000 NFL PLAY 60 grant during a special assembly. The money will be used for the school’s health and wellness program and playground equipment. Jack Harvey is the only school in the state to receive the grant. The NFL PLAY 60 Super School contest selected one school in each of the 32 NFL markets and two non-NFL markets to receive the cash. Parent Carol Beninati, who runs after school student health club at Jack Harvey, entered the school for the grant. "To see these kids faces today is just priceless," Beninati told Patch.
