The Eisenhower High School football team will play at Ford Field Aug. 31 as part of the Forgotten Harvest Football Classic.
Eisenhower will be one of eight high school football teams that will play on the field where the pros play in a fundraising game for Forgotten Harvest. The team is starting the 2013 football season by taking part in the Forgotten Harvest Football Classic at Ford Field. Hoping to free up more options for students when it comes to high school electives, the House Education Committee approved two bills in Lansing on Tuesday that would eliminate the foreign language requirement for graduation. Currently the following languages are taught at high schools in Shelby Township and Utica: By eliminating the two-year foreign language requirement, the proposal hopes to give students not headed to college more vocational options in school, but the Michigan Department of Education opposes the bill, according to the Detroit News. All four Utica Community Schools high schools were named among the country's top high schools by Newsweek Magazine.
Utica Community Schools have four of the top high schools in the nation, according to rankings released by Newsweek Magazine. Eisenhower, Henry Ford II, Stevenson and Utica high schools were ranked among the top 2,000 high schools in the United States. Additionally, Eisenhower was the top high school in Macomb County. The Utica Academy for International Studies and Eisenhower High School were named two of America's Most Challenging High Schools by the Washington Post.

The Utica Academy for International Studies and Eisenhower High School were recently named two of the most academically challenging high schools in America. Eisenhower High School was ranked 22nd in Michigan.
Eisenhower High School was the only Macomb County school to receive high marks in a Washington Post ranking of schools across the country. The Post's ranking of the nation's most challenging high schools evaluated schools on the number of high-level tests (such as Advanced Placement or International Baccalaurate) given to students each year. They were also scored based on how many students passed at least one college-level test. Eisenhower High School's Espirit de Corps is one of 56 yearbooks across the nation to be named a Pacemaker Finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association. This is on top of four other state and national honors for the 2012 yearbook.

Eisenhower High School students brought audiences to tears and later to their feet with their breathtaking production of Les Misérables School Edition last weekend. Performed Feb. 28-March 2, the production enjoyed sold-out performances and introduced a new generation to the award-winning musical that has touched the hearts of millions around the world.
