In the United States, there are nearly 12 million people who have survived cancer – and countless more who have avoided it – who will be celebrating birthdays this year. You can join the movement for more birthdays and fight back against cancer by enrolling in a new research study "When you hear the words 'you've got cancer' and you've been diagnosed, time stops for a little bit, honestly," Melissa Howell, a breast cancer survivor and General Motors' executive director of Human Resources in North America, says in a video created by GM to promote the Cancer Prevention Study - 3 (CPS-3). "It really makes you question your own mortality and also makes you question what in my life, other than genetics, have I done that could have potentially …

Photo Gallery: Obama at GM Orion Assembly Plant

President Obama and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak spoke about a trade agreement between the United States and South Korea that they said will provide economic benefits and employment to both countries.

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and President Barack Obama scored a grand slam Friday as they appeared at the GM Orion Assembly Plant in Orion Township to talk about trade between the two countries. President Lee stole the show from the get-go as he donned a flat-billed Detroit Tigers hat, with Obama driving opening remarks home by commenting on the Detroit Lions' victory over the Chicago Bears on Monday. The purpose of the event was to discuss a trade agreement approved by the two countries that they said would provide economic benefit on each side of the Pacific Ocean. Obama, who said the trade agreement is fair because it not only allows for Korean-made vehicles to be imported, but allows for the export of American made vehicles to…

GM employees describe to President Barack Obama how Korea and the United States work together to produce vehicles at the Orion Assembly plant.

Employees of the General Motors Orion Assembly provided an in-depth description Friday of the multinational manufacturing process involved in making the Chevrolet Sonic as U.S. President Barack Obama and his South Korean counterpart watched. The president, with his sleeves rolled up, and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, who was wearing a Detroit Tigers cap, listened intently and asked questions of the employees as they toured the assembly line. Daniel Leich of Shelby Township, supply chain director for the plant, shared with the presidents how manufacturing procedures have "improved the efficiency and quality focus of our operations." As he moved along the line, others shared their expertise, including Dayna Moose of Royal Oak, a …

It really isn't the plant he is visiting, he is visiting the union workers to make sure they remember he is still running for President, even thought he doesn't really work like one. Well I am hoping for the real change in Nov, 2012 and no, I haven't made up my mind yet, and I don't listen to the debates. either. I keep thinking maybe he is going to sell out that part of GM. Who knows.   more ›

President Barack Obama and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak will tour the General Motors assembly plant in Orion together Friday, according to a press release from the White House.
