Viewfinder: Under Water In Flood Watch
Several streets in Grosse Pointe Woods are flooded as rain continues and National Weather Service says it will continue into Thursday.
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for several Michigan counties, including Wayne, Macomb and Oakland, early Wednesday as rain moved in quickly. Heavy rain is expected to drench much of southern Michigan and continue through Thursday. Several streets in Grosse Pointe Woods are already flooded and slowing drivers significantly. One reader also reported flooding in Grosse Pointe Farms, although the water has since receded. According to the flood watch in effect through Thursday night, periods of heavy rain with one to three inches per span are expected. Higher amounts are possible.
