Shelby Township Man's Passenger Accused of Pointing Gun in Road Rage Incident

Information for this crime brief was supplied by the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. Where arrests apply, they do not indicate convictions.

Two men were arrested Tuesday after one of them allegedly pointed a handgun at another driver during a road rage incident in Macomb Township, police said Thursday. At approximately 6:47 p.m., Macomb County Sheriff's deputies said they were called to the Hall and Hayes area after a motorist reported someone waved a handgun at him. They pulled over a 19-year-old Shelby Township man and his 20-year-old passenger from Virginia Beach, VA in the Hayes and 21 Mile area. When deputies approached the GMC Denali, they smelled marijuana. The men denied having a handgun, but when deputies searched the vehicle, they found a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson in the center console, the Sheriff's Office reports. Utica Police Seek Tips on Crash that 'May Have Involved Alcohol'

The Utica police are investigating a crash that has left three people seriously injured.

The Utica police are looking for witnesses to a serious accident Sunday night on the M-59 expressway because it may have involved alcohol. Cheif Dave Faber said all three people involved in the two-car crash, which occurred just after 11 p.m. were seriously injured. According to police, a white Chevrolet Malibu and a grey Ford Taurus crashed on westbound M-59 at the exit ramp from southbound M-53. However, Faber said they are looking for witnesses because details are sketchy. "We are unsure of the circumstances as we have no eyewitnesses at this time," he said. Alcohol appears to have been a factor, according to Faber.   The Utica Police Department asks that anyone who may have seen the crash should contact them at 586-731-2345.

The lot on which Taco Bell now sits formerly housed a BP gas station, which had been vacant for more than a year when Taco Bell announced its plans for the property. The restaurant is open 10 a.m. to midnight seven days a week, with the drive-thru open from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. seven days as well. When Macomb Patch asked readers in November 2011 what they thought of the …

The grand reopening of the Shelby Township Achatz Handmade Pie Co. location offered the first 50 customers free slice cards for a year and lots of samples.

Clinton Township resident Michael Pedersen arrived at the new Shelby Township Achatz Handmande Pie Co. at 2 a.m. Friday–six hours before the store was slated to host its grand-reopening celebration. Pedersen admits he is not a “huge pie fan,” but neither he nor the 50-plus customers who followed him could refuse the promise of free slice cards for a year and samples of the brand’s 25 flavors. “It seemed like a fun thing to do,” Pedersen said. “I saw the signs (advertising the opening) a couple of days ago and I heard about other openings with people getting in line at 3:30 a.m. and the people at 4:30 a.m. not making (the cutoff).” Pedersen’s early morning arrival and subsequent first place in line ensured he would receive a free slice card…
