Emergency responders were at the scene of the crash Tuesday afternoon in Harrison Township.
A multi-vehicle crash that prompted the closure of eastbound Interstate 94 at Metro Parkway Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of one motorist, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. Deputies are investigating the accident that took place around 2:16 p.m. Preliminary reports lead them to believe the crash took place after a male driver merged from Metro Parkway onto the freeway, crossing over all three lanes. The driver's vehicle struck another vehicle before hitting the center median barrier before another vehicle crashed into it, deputies said. Motorists were directed off the freeway onto Metro Parkway as emergency responders arrived to the personal injury accident, deputies said. No further details were immediately available.
