Man Allegedly Holds Spouse Hostage, Bar Patron Exposes Himself and Purse Snatched in Utica

Unable to escape from her husband, a 24-year-old Utica woman text messaged her friend to dispatch police to her home at the 45000 block of Kensington around 4:40 a.m. Jan. 3, according to Utica police. When they arrived, police found the woman in the kitchen with the 25-year-old man, described as her common-law husband, who claimed nothing happened between the pair. However, the woman said he pointed a gun at her head while they were in the car, threatened to kill her and would not let her escape the vehicle, police said. She said when he finally drove her home, he refused to leave so she secretly sent her friend a text message, telling her send police to her home out of fear she would be harmed, police said.
