Arrest Made in Connection to Home Invasions in Shelby Township

Officers say they saw D’Mario Darrell Thornton, 32, break into a Rochester Hills home last week.

The following information was obtained from the Troy Police Department on Tuesday. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. A man who police believe to be responsible for at least 15-20 home invasions in Metro Detroit—including Shelby Township—was arrested in Rochester Hills last week, according to Troy police. D’Mario Darrell Thornton, 32, was arrested without incident after Troy Police, deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, and South Oakland Narcotic Investigation Consortium officers say they saw him break into a Rochester Hills home on the evening of March 26. Later, a search of his car, a 2009 White Cadillac Escalade, and his residence in Sterling Heights led to the recovery of stolen …

Police: Shelby Township Church Robbed After Easter Services - Update

More than $40,000 was reported stolen from St. Therese Lisieux Catholic Church, according to multiple media reports. St. Luke Lutheran Church in Clinton Township also was robbed overnight.

Shelby Township police said that St. Therese Lisieux Catholic Church was robbed following Easter services, according to a report on WXYZ. Shelby Township police also said that they have learned that a church in Clinton Township was robbed last night, according to a release from the department. Clinton Township police said St. Luke Lutheran Church was robbed sometime between 1 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday. Police believe the two robberies are related. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the safe at St. Luke's, according to Capt. Richard Maierle of the Clinton Township Police Department. Shelby Township Police Apprehend Man After High-Speed Chase

Shelby Township police have arrested a 23-year-old Warren man who lead them on a high-speed chase early Friday morning in a stolen vehicle. Police say the chase began at approximately 1:40 a.m. this morning after officers saw a 1998 Ford F150 pickup truck, which the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office had been reported as stolen from a Washington Township car dealership, driving southbound on M-53 near 25 Mile Road. When a police officer attempted to pull over the man driving the truck, the truck sped off and led police on a high-speed chase, according to a police statement. Diaper-Clad Child, 2, Found Walking Across 23 Mile Road in New Baltimore

The New Baltimore police and Macomb County Child Protective Services have launched a joint investigation after a 2-year-old girl wearing nothing but a diaper was seen walking on 23 Mile Road on Thursday morning.

Employees from a hair salon in New Baltimore rescued a 2-year-old girl wearing nothing but a diaper from walking across a heavily congested portion of the 36000 block of 23 Mile Road on Thursday morning.  The New Baltimore police were called just before 10 a.m. to do a health and safety check after receiving several complaint calls of a “young, soaking wet child walking in the roadway, wearing only a diaper,” according to a police-issued statement. Several motorists told police the child was about to walk across the street when employees from a nearby hair salon ran out and removed the child from the street and the rainy weather conditions. Alleged Stars & Stripes Shooter to Face Felony Assault, Armed Robbery and Firearm Charges

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham has identified Demitrus Marcellas Ludaway as the suspect who shot a Detroit man in the leg Friday at the Mount Clemens Stars & Stripes Festival.

The 18-year-old Warren man accused of shooting a Detroit resident at the Mount Clemens Stars & Stripes Festival Friday will face multiple felony charges this week, police say. Demitrus Marcellas Ludaway is facing charges of assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and felony firearm, according to police. Utica Police: Teen Conceals Marijuana, Stolen iPhone in Pants

A 17-year-old Sterling Heights resident accused of concealing a stolen cell phone and marijuana in her shorts while in Utica police custody last week was charged in 41 A District Court. The girl, whose name is not being released because she is a minor, was charged with larceny from a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana. The teen was released after paying a personal bond, but she'll be back in court June 25 at 1:30 p.m. for a hearing. The Utica police said in a report that they were called June 9 to the National Coney Island on Hall Road on a report of a stolen cell phone. The victim was there along with the suspect. Serial Pantyhose Flasher Spotted at Partridge Creek

Clinton Township police say the suspect, who is sought in several other obscene incidents, exposed himself at Forever 21.

Clinton Township police are reporting that a serial pantyhose flasher was spotted at Partridge Creek on Monday night. The man, who also has been spotted wearing only a shirt and sheer pantyhose in several other communities in southeastern Michigan, appeared at Forever 21 in Partridge Creek at 8:40 p.m. on March 19, according to Capt. Richard Maierle. A woman and her boyfriend recognized the serial flasher from media coverage, and he immediately left when spotted. Police: 2 Men Accused of Stealing at Home Depot

The following arrest information was supplied by the Utica Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

On two separate occasions in the past week, suspected Home Depot thieves have admitted to stealing in order to support their drug habit, Utica police said. When a 34-year-old Wixom man arrested at the Utica Home Depot on suspicion of stealing copper plumbing parts last Thursday, police found an old sock with a needle and spoon in the man’s pocket and a small packet or heroin. Police said the man, who was stopped before he exited the store, had the merchandise in his pocket, but didn’t have a wallet or money on him. He was arrested on charges of retail fraud third degree. On Wednesday evening, a Utica police officer stopped a 26-year-old St. Clair Shores man exiting the Home Depot because the officer said the man was wearing a wool jacket, …

Police: Woman Arrested for Stealing while Boyfriend Smoked Marijuana

A Shelby Township woman was arrested Sunday on suspicion of stealing merchandise from Target in Utica while her boyfriend waited in the parking lot. The 20-year-old woman was charged with third-degree retail fraud and concealing and possessing drugs. Police said she stole more than $250 worth of Blu-Ray DVDs and food from the store around 4 p.m. Target Loss Prevention officers approached the woman as she exited he store and held her at the store until the Utica police arrived. Target employees said the same woman is responsible for more than $1,000 in thefts at area Targets, and that a Mustang usually waits in the parking lot for her.
