Reconstruction of Auburn Road to Kick Off County's 2013 Road Projects

The Macomb County Department of Roads has scheduled the $2.7 million reconstruction project to start in February 2013.

Shelby Township's westernmost section of Auburn Road will be one of the first county roads to undergo construction as orange barrel season 2013 gets underway next month. The Macomb County Department of Roads has scheduled more than $38 million in road projects this year, with the $2.7 million reconstruction of Auburn Road between Dequindre and Ryan leading the way. The reconstruction is due to start in February and wrap up by July, at which point three additional projects will already be in progress in the township. Starting in June, and to the tune of $8.6 million, construction crews will begin widening Hayes Road to five lanes between 21 and 23 mile roads. County Unveils 2013 Plans Van Dyke and Hayes Construction

The Macomb County Department of Roads has announced a new construction project on Hayes Road between 21 and 23 Mile Road to begin in June 2013.

While most construction is wrapping up for winter, county officials announced Monday major road projects for 2013, including the widening of Hayes Road between 21 and 23 Mile Road and the widening of Van Dyke north of 25 Mile. Come June 2013, residents in Shelby Township and Macomb are going to want to seek alternate routes as construction on Hayes Road between 21 Mile Road and 23 Mile Road kicks off. The Macomb County Department of Roads announced Tuesday that Federal funds were allocated for Hayes Road, and will cover 80 percent of construction cost.
