It's been a busy business news week in Shelby Township with the unexpected closure of Biggby Coffee and the grand opening of Bagger Dave's.
As the old saying goes, "when one door closes, another one opens," rings true when it comes to businesses in Shelby Township. In the past week, there has been a shakeup in restaurants in the area. So here's what you need to know. Biggby Coffee on Van Dyke Avenue, just north of 23 Mile Road in Shelby Township unexpectedly closed it's doors with a sign noting the store is closed as of "9/28." Franchise Owner Dave Daynko told Patch he still owns the local franchise license but does not have plans to re-open the coffee shop anytime soon. This is the second coffee shop to close on Van Dyke in Shelby Township in the past year. Hepburn's Crepes and Coffee on 24 Mile Road closed in January. Shelby-Utica Patch readers vote Osaka Japanese Steak House the best sushi restaurant in town.
What's the best sushi restaurant in Shelby Township and Utica? Osaka Japanese Steak House. At least that's what Patch readers have determined after the weeklong Readers' Choice quest for the best sushi restaurant in the Shelby-Utica Patch region. The winner was determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Both Osaka and Volcano Sushi were tied in the poll with four votes each, but Osaka received more stars based on readers reviews. Check out all of our Readers' Choice winners. Schroeder and a friend will be gnashing on some free and delicious food April 25 at 10 Macomb County restaurants during the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event.
