Police say one person was critically wounded Monday morning at an apartment complex near 25 Mile and Van Dyke.
One person was shot Monday morning at a Shelby Township apartment complex near 25 Mile and Van Dyke, according to police. The incident took place at around 7:15 a.m. Monday, police say. Chief Roland Woelkers said the condition of the victim is "critical." He is being treated at a nearby hospital. The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation. Woelkers said Shelby Township officers are still interviewing residents at the complex, which has not been named. Police are not releasing any additional information about the victim at this time. Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham has identified Demitrus Marcellas Ludaway as the suspect who shot a Detroit man in the leg Friday at the Mount Clemens Stars & Stripes Festival.
The 18-year-old Warren man accused of shooting a Detroit resident at the Mount Clemens Stars & Stripes Festival Friday will face multiple felony charges this week, police say. Demitrus Marcellas Ludaway is facing charges of assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and felony firearm, according to police. He is currently being held in the Macomb County Jail on a $75,000 cash/surety bond and is expected to be arraigned Monday in 41B District Court in Clinton Township. An 18-year-old Warren man was arrested Friday night after a shooting at the Stars and Stripes Festival in downtown Mount Clemens.
A confrontation over Cartier sunglasses turned violent Friday night at the popular Stars and Stripes Festival in downtown Mount Clemens, police said. As thousands of people left the annual fireworks display around 10:35 p.m., an 18-year-old Warren man shot a 19-year-old Detroit man in the leg on Market Street, Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said Saturday. "There was a confrontation between two males," Wickersham said. "The suspect took the glasses off the head of the victim." When the victim went to get his glasses back, the suspect "pulls out a gun and shoots him in the leg," he said. The suspect then dropped the gun and fled.
