5 Ways to Enjoy the Snow at Stony Creek: Sledding, Snowshoeing and More
With a fresh coat of snow on the ground in Shelby Township and Utica, the obvious course of action is to grab your sled and head to Stony Creek.
Stony Creek Metropark is home to a variety of snow sports, including sledding, snowboarding and snowshoeing, to name a few. A $5 daily permit gets you in the park, while a $25 annual permit provides year-round entry. The park is open during the winter months from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check the park website for snow conditions. Sledding hills are located at the Gladeview and West Branch picnic areas. A toboggan hill is located at the West Branch picnic area, near the “F” parking lot. A designated "snowboards only" hill can be found near the Gladeview picnic area.
