Have a great photo, painting or drawing that you think will be a perfect cover photo to illustrate the change in season from winter to spring for our Facebook page? Upload it now.

With the start of the new season, it's a great time to freshen up the Shelby-Utica Patch Facebook page cover photo — and we're looking for your help. From now until Friday, March 22, we'll be accepting submissions for a cover photo — it could be a recent photograph, something from the archives, a painting or a drawing. For a while now, the cover photo has been of the Utica Ice Festival. While the ice sculptures at this event were pretty incredible, our cover photo is overdue for an update. Show us your favorite photo of the change in seasons in Shelby Township and Utica. Shelby Township Ice Sculptor Takes Second Place in Amateur Contest at Utica Ice Fest

Macomb Community College student Mike Thomas took second place for his ice sculpture in the individual collegiate ice carving competition at the 2013 Utica Ice Festival.

A Shelby Township resident and Macomb Community College culinary arts student was one of four MCC sculptors to place in last weekend's individual collegiate ice carving competition at the Utica Ice Festival. Mike Thomas' fish sculpture won second place in the Feb. 9 competition. Other MCC students to carve their way into the top six included Justin Nellis, of Eastpointe, whose snail sculpture took sixth; Al Bock, who took fifth place for his ball sculpture; and Brad Groszkiewicz, who placed third for his sculpture, Cascading Spheres. Crowds Flock to Downtown Utica for Ice Festival Fireworks (VIDEO)

Utica kicked off its 2013 ice festival Friday with a fireworks display in Memorial Park. If you couldn't make it to the show, or just want to relive the fun, here are a few seconds of video from the finale. Looking for more festival coverage? Your Guide to the 2013 Utica Ice Festival

Saturday's Radio Disney snow starts at noon in Memorial Park, with activities for children offered through 4 p.m.

Historic downtown Utica will be transformed into "The World of Disney" this weekend as the city celebrates its annual ice festival, Feb. 8-10. If you're planning to head downtown to catch the fireworks, take a carriage ride or just stroll by the 50 plus ice sculptures, here's what you need to know: Back by popular demand, carriages rides will be offered all three days of the festival. Tickets, available at City Hall, are $4 for adults, $1 for children under 12 and free for infants. Jeff Wolf, a Shelby Township artist and owner of Finesse Ice Sculptures, and his team will once again carve all of the festival's sculptures, as well as offer on-site demonstrations. Fireworks, Carriage Rides and Carving Contests Fill Utica Ice Fest Schedule

Guests at the 2013 Utica Ice Festival will enjoy a Disney theme Feb. 8-10, along with special shows and activities on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Final preparations are underway this week to bring carriage rides, fireworks and some 50 ice sculptures into the heart of downtown Utica for the city’s annual ice festival Feb. 8-10. Designed with a Disney theme, the sculptures will line Cass Avenue and portions of Auburn Road, with some of the largest carvings taking center stage in Memorial Park, where much of the festival’s entertainment is scheduled. Jeff Wolf, a Shelby Township artist and owner of Finesse Ice Sculptures, and his team will once again carve all of the festival's sculptures, as well as offer on-site demonstrations. Wolf has also helped organize an amateur carving contest for the viewing pleasure of festival-goers from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday. “The carvings are going to be …

Utica Books Radio Disney to Add Musical Magic to 2013 Ice Festival

Guests at the 2013 Utica Ice Festival will enjoy a Disney theme Feb. 8-10, along with special shows and activities on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Historic downtown Utica will be transformed into "The World of Disney" this February as the city celebrates its annual ice festival. Billed by the Utica Downtown Development Authority and Parks & Recreation as "Disney in Downtown Utica," the festival will feature ice carvings of familiar animated characters and entertainment provided by Radio Disney.  Jeff Wolf, a Shelby Township artist and owner of Finesse Ice Sculptures, and his team will once again carve all of the festival's sculptures, which will be located along Cass Avenue and Auburn Road as well as in Memorial Park.
