Michigan-Made Wine Tasting Room to Open in Shelby Township

A Macomb Township couple is opening a Michigan-made wine tasting room in Shelby Township.

The founders of Michigan By The Bottle, a website/online community promoting the Michigan wine industry, are teaming up with six wineries from throughout the state to establish a joint wine tasting room in Shelby Township.  Located at 45645 Hayes Road, north of Hall Road, the Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room will offer tasting flights paired with small bites for a nominal fee, plus wine sales by the bottle and case. The facility also will host events like winemaker meet-and-greets, art exhibits and interactive art sessions, book signings, catered wine tasting dinners and more.  Owners Cortney and Shannon Casey of Macomb County will be the first wine enthusiasts to bring a tasting room in Michigan under this concept, with multiple …

VIDEO: Vince and Joe's Wine Station Takes Grocery Shopping to Higher Level

Vince and Joe's Gourmet Market wine station gaining popularity with shoppers and happy-hour crowd.

What could make your last-minute trip to the grocery store on a Friday afternoon a little more pleasurable? Perhaps an appointment with some friends at the grocery store’s self-serve wine station would do the trick? What’s a wine station you ask? It’s a digital wine bar where customers can taste a one, two or four ounce sample of one of the hundreds of wines offered at Vince and Joe’s Gourmet Market. Sommelier Ted Ross said the Shelby Township market is one of the only stores in the state to have a wine station. The wine station gives shoppers the ability to sample any bottle of wine in the store before committing to buy it, according to Ross.
