Fireworks, Carriage Rides and Carving Contests Fill Utica Ice Fest Schedule

Guests at the 2013 Utica Ice Festival will enjoy a Disney theme Feb. 8-10, along with special shows and activities on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Final preparations are underway this week to bring carriage rides, fireworks and some 50 ice sculptures into the heart of downtown Utica for the city’s annual ice festival Feb. 8-10. Designed with a Disney theme, the sculptures will line Cass Avenue and portions of Auburn Road, with some of the largest carvings taking center stage in Memorial Park, where much of the festival’s entertainment is scheduled. Jeff Wolf, a Shelby Township artist and owner of Finesse Ice Sculptures, and his team will once again carve all of the festival's sculptures, as well as offer on-site demonstrations. Utica Books Radio Disney to Add Musical Magic to 2013 Ice Festival

Guests at the 2013 Utica Ice Festival will enjoy a Disney theme Feb. 8-10, along with special shows and activities on Saturday, Feb. 9.

Historic downtown Utica will be transformed into "The World of Disney" this February as the city celebrates its annual ice festival. Billed by the Utica Downtown Development Authority and Parks & Recreation as "Disney in Downtown Utica," the festival will feature ice carvings of familiar animated characters and entertainment provided by Radio Disney.  Jeff Wolf, a Shelby Township artist and owner of Finesse Ice Sculptures, and his team will once again carve all of the festival's sculptures, which will be located along Cass Avenue and Auburn Road as well as in Memorial Park.
