Hand Grenades Dropped Off At Shelby Township Salvation Army Store

Shelby Township police and fire responded to a local Salvation Army store Monday, where an employee found three hand grenades in the donation drop-off area, police said Tuesday. At approximately 12:53 p.m. Monday authorities responded a report that someone left three hand grenades in a donation box over the weekend. Nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution. The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad took the explosive devices and properly disposed of them away from the store, police said in a news release.
