As a longtime resident of the Shelby Township area, I'm happy to report the news to my neighbors. I've worked in community journalism for over 20 years, including my early days at the Utica High School Arrow newspaper, where I was a staff writer my senior year. 

Since then I've earned a bachelor's degree in English from Oakland University and worked for several other community-based publications in Macomb and Oakland counties. I also have experience in healthcare Marketing and Public Relations.

I enjoy writing features, including uplifting stories about people who are making a difference in our community. 

When I'm not writing, I'm either caring for my wonderful husband or our two elementary school-age children, volunteering at their school, or walking our dog, a Soft Coated Wheaten terrier.
