Ferndale Education Foundation, Neighbor

The FEF was formed in 1989 by Superintendent William Coyne. He recognized a need for a Foundation that would support worthwhile educational initiatives that could not be funded through the general operating budget of the district. Since then, the Foundation has annually supported such program as Camp Skyline, mini-grants for innovative teaching concepts, after-school and summer tutoring and visiting authors.

A separate legal entity from the school board, the Foundation is governed by trustees who serve without pay.

Individuals, businesses and organizations contribute to the Foundation, through sponsorships and by participating in annual fundraisers such as the auction and Fore Kids golf outing. Many district employees contribute through payroll deduction. As we look to the future, we continue to build the Foundation's endowment for the support of excellence in education.
