Online voter registration leaves too much room to encourage even more fraud into an imperfect election process.

    Dear David,

Please feel free to keep posting. The more comments you leave the longer it will remain on the front page of Patch.com and the more people will have an opportunity to read it. As far as your insults and demands for links. Google it yourself, I'm done humoring your outrageous posts.

    Dear Kristin

I concur and would be up to the constructive critique as well, but I refuse to defend myself against a position I never took. I thank you for your support of the article. I found many things David stated to be not only offensive, but wrong and misrepresented for his own benefit.

    Dear David

You, David, are obviously very intent on making this a racial issue and you, David, have taken the compare and contrasts of an article written about the neglect of the American culture completely out of context. Please David, feel free to continue to spew your hatred and ill intended comments David, however I will no longer be dignifying them David with a response. I will be posting more articles soon David...as I have never been one to run from hatefulness and especially not from someone who is trying to quiet my voice.
    Sincerely,

    Part II

Unfortunately, your response is much like the others who have come out against my words. It is nothing more than an attempt at demonizing me and putting words in my mouth to distract from the issues at hand.

I beg to differ with you on why immigrants come and whether or not they would return to their countries, "if they could." I know many immigrants who still love the countries they came from and have nothing stopping them from returning, however they remain in America. They came for a better way of life and the dream for their families. It's a beautiful testament to what America REALLY is. Not the war mongering monstrosity you have made it out to be in your statement. You say "immigrants bother me." No. The utter neglect in acknowledging our culture...the American Culture...bothers me. At no time did I demean any immigrants...it is you that has demeaned them by stating learning another language would be too difficult for them, that they don't love their original countries and that they would disrespect America and renounce their citizenship if given the opportunity by their war ravaged countries.
    Sincerely,

    Dear Lauren,

I have always thought that assumptions were dangerous and it's because they are usually wrong...much like this one. I never thought, hinted at nor stated in this article that learning English or any language for that matter would be an easy topic; that doesn't mean it isn't necessary or shouldn't be considered an equally important task when coming to this country.

I took Spanish in High School MANY moons ago and can actually still speak what I learned rather well. I even remember a song "La Cucaracha." I have also started learning the Italian language...for my degree...while I was a single mother, worked, raised my boys and took other classes all of which had homework. Difficult does not equate to impossible.

I will concede that it would be very important that a child's family understands their progress in school and does not have to rely on the child to state such progress. Translators in this instance make definite sense, but English should still be sought. There are many opportunities for free or low cost English language courses throughout communities so money really isn't a factor.

I stated that we were a nation of immigrants and at no time made reference to making immigrants leave. In fact, this article isn't even about "immigrants" it's about the American Culture and how people don't recognize that we have one.
