This list should not be ditto'd. The To-Do list should be addressed, not kicked on down the road yet again. But, hey, whatever the King says, Matt agrees.

Reply"Expand technology and increase training"? You must be kidding me.
How about addressing the fact that there are more than a handful of vacant grocery stores and strip malls.

ReplyThe Court issue, again!?! It's been 4 years since Stathakis ran for office touting his desire to settle this issue once and for all, and where has that gotten us? Except for embarrassed by the fact that it is patently illegal to put the issue up for vote.

Reply"Reduce Operational Costs" Does that really need to be listed as a priority? That's like putting "Tie my shoes" on my list of daily chores.

On the article New Baltimore to Revisit Medical Marijuana Moratorium

ReplyTax it. Tax it. Tax it. The whole prohibition is a sham and it won't much longer. New Baltimore will LOSE the ability to TAX medical marijuana business after the Feds reschedule pot. Prescription meds are not taxable and neither will a Schedule 2 cannabis plant. Get them to sign a long term tax agreement. And do it asap before pot goes the way of tax free Vicodin.

Tracy-- People use natural medicine (medical marijuana) because they don't want to take pills. Prescribed pharmaceuticals kill 100,000+ Americans each and every year. Marijuana has been used medicinally for thousands of years. Fluid extracts of cannabis were one of the most widely used medicines in the early 20th century and Detroit's own Parke Davis was a leading producer of medical marijuana in the 1920s and 30s. Google it.

On the Blog Post UCS students get a new look at the 225-year old U.S. Constitution

ReplyIt's important to remember that while the constitution itself rarely gets amended, it changes quite a bit as different figures interpret the same text in different ways. Here's a crib sheet:
1) All people are created equal, except gays and blacks.
2) Today (unlike 100 years ago), Women are allowed to vote, but only if they have a photo ID.
3) Since the Patriot Act, the Federal government can now listen to and analyze any phone call, email, or text message they want without a search warrant.
4) Today the Federal government can detain people indefinitely without legal representation.
5) One Million Americans had their right to bear arms revoked on September 11, 2011 when the ATF instructed every firearm dealer in the country not to sell guns to medical marijuana patients.

You wanna know what's tragic, Keith Best?
There were 154 U.S. military suicides in the first 155 days of 2012... That’s 50% more troops than were killed in action in Afghanistan.
It's just a matter of time before more US troops die from suicide than civilians died on 9/11. That's tragic for America... but I'm sure the industrial military complex will find a way to profit... I wonder how much they'll charge to print and distribute suicide prevention kits to soldiers. It'll probably be a no-bid, several hundred million dollar contract. Keep watching Fox News, Keith, there is still some grey matter on your brain that needs washing.
