Former UCS Educator Turned Author Signs New Book On Bullying

"I Am Stumped" children's book is about friendship and making good choices.

Lisa Rivard, a former Utica Community Schools principal and teacher who now works as a Language Arts Assistant for the Macomb Intermediate School District, will sign copies of her new book, “I Am Stumped” July 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at , 6451 Auburn Road.

The book’s message is about anti-bullying and helps kids to be empathetic towards others. “It is my hope that this book will encourage children to have the confidence to solve problems on their own or to ask for help from a trusted adult, if needed,” Rivard said.

Rivard, of New Baltimore, will sell copies of the book for $10 at the event and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the local library. Buy the book now by visiting Rivard’s website
